What Vinny does

Vinny is a service of Augment Inc. (“we”, “us”) for businesses. We set up an AI to answer your business’s phone: it talks with callers, answers from the menu, hours and prices you give us, and takes pickup orders by phone. If a caller sincerely asks, it says it’s an AI.

Trying it

You try it on a test number first. Nothing changes on your line until you say so, and you choose when your calls forward to it. Forwarding is set on your own line, so you can turn it off whenever you like, and we’ll show you how for your carrier.

Our demo number is there so you can hear how it sounds. Nothing ordered on it gets made and nobody gets charged.

Your part

• Give us a menu, hours and prices that are right, and tell us when they change. It tells callers what you gave us.
• Make sure you have the right to forward the line you forward. What your carrier charges for forwarding is between you and your carrier.
• Allergies, and anything else a caller’s health depends on. It doesn’t promise what’s safe to eat. It tells callers what your menu says and to check with your kitchen. Your food and your menu’s words are yours to answer for.
• Telling callers. It doesn’t announce itself unless you ask it to. If a law that applies to you requires a notice about the AI, a transcript or a recording, tell us and we’ll add it to how the line answers.

What we can’t promise

It can mishear a caller, get an order wrong, or say something you wouldn’t. That’s why you start on a test number. We don’t promise how many calls it can take at once, any hours it will be available, or any result for your business, unless we’ve agreed it in writing.

Calls and transcripts

We keep transcripts of calls, not audio, unless you’ve agreed otherwise with us. We keep them while you use Vinny and up to 90 days after you stop. The Privacy page says more.

Price

There’s no public price. What you pay is what we agree in writing before your calls forward to it. We bill nothing we haven’t agreed.

Stopping

Either of us can stop at any time. You stop by turning your forwarding off and telling us. We stop by telling you in writing, with as much notice as we reasonably can. There’s no fee for stopping unless we’ve agreed one in writing.

The rest

The service is provided as described here and without other warranties. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. A signed agreement between us overrides this page where they differ. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
